The roofing is turf, laid on an impermeable membrane, planted with grasses, herbs or wild flower mix. Alternativelya more traditional tile, slate or shingle can be used.

The cabins require no foundations, but can be placed on plinths of rock, wood or concrete.

The natural insulation of wood and turf offer all year round use. They are cosy in winter and cool in summer.

You can visit during the build to finalise the positioning of windows and doors, which can be left until the structure is assembled. The cabins are transported to site in component form and put up in days requiring finishing work only.
